Maximize Your Wins at the Online Poker Table
by Ryan Malone

Part of a solid online poker strategy is knowing when to leave the game. Any player with some success has surely learned when to leave the table while playing badly/losing. But, these same players, after having a winning session, their first instinct is to take the money and run.

I know, the old adage "Quit while your ahead", but this term applies to gambling. I thought poker was supposed to be a game of skill?

A winning poker strategy includes not only minimizing losses but MAXIMIZING wins. While on a hot streak at the poker table, one should attempt to ride that streak to maximize their profits while playing well. Look at what you have going for you while on a hot streak...

1. Momentum

You are playing well , You are winning, you are feeling good, this has an good effect on your mind set while playing.

2. Confidence

When you win, it usually means you are playing good poker. When you are on a hot streak you are usually playing your BEST poker. Why leave the table when playing at your best?

3. Air of Invincibility

When you are losing badly, it is said that your opponents can "smell blood". The opposite is true when you're on a winning streak. You seem undefeatable and players will be hesitant to get involved in a pot with you.

In spite of these facts most players will player longer when they are LOSING trying to chase their losses, while playing poor poker in the process. Their shortest session will be the ones where they won and left the table clutching their winnings, while the other players are saying "Wow, I'm glad he left, he was winning every pot". Don't leave the table when you have your opponents on the ropes, deliver the knock-out punch instead.
