Default POKER:Why is a flush a higher hand then a straight?

Can you explain why?

Harder to get five cards of the same suit than it is to get five cards in sequential order.

Once you have 4 to a flush or a straight, getting the 5th to complete the flush is more probable then getting the 5th to complete a straight. However, getting the 4 cards to a flush is harder then getting 4 cards to a straight.in the end its almost twice as likely that you'll be dealt a straight in 5 cards, then a flush.

You have to get 5 of 13 possible cards, there are way more possible straights in a deck of 52.
