Default What kind of fence can I build that will block out noise from a 4 lane road next

to my home? I am depressed? I did not qualify for a sound barrier and need to find the least expensive way to block out all that noise Traffic that is coming into our bedrooms. Please Help

a brick fence or a wooden one with a lot of trees planted behind it or in front of it.

I would go with a cinder block wall. I have no idea how much it would cost, but people are always giving away left over building material on craigslist.orgIt's also a good idea to plant trees or shrubs, they really do absorb the sound.

any kind of fence will work, but look at the freeways -you'll see they are lined with lotsa plants like shrubs, vines, and trees. get creative.

A concrete Barrier about 6-8 inches thick the height is about 8 ft high does wonders for the property value
