you should be able to distinguish and know how much every person has in both $ and chips. You can give every person 5000 chips and to know that 1000 chips = $1

If you are playing tournament style, which it sounds like you are, then just pick a certain amount and make sure that everybody has the same amount.A good way to do that is like this:White chips = $1 (Probably don't need these)Red chips = $5Green chips= $25Black chips= $100Blue chips = $500Give everybody $2000 in chips. (This could be any amount, $2000 is just an example) Now everybody has the same amount and you can start your game.
