Dead Man's Hand |
Two pair - Aces and Eights. (Wild Bill Hickock was shot in the back while playing this hand.) |

Dead Money |
(1) Money contributed to a pot by a player no longer in the pot. (2) A player in a tournament who has no realistic chance of winning. |
Dealer |

Dealer Button |
A small round disk that is moved from player to player in a clockwise direction following each hand, to theoretically indicate the dealer of each hand. |
Deposit Bonus |
A cash bonus that an online poker room gives tonew players that sign up and make a deposit. Typically, the poker room makes the bonus a percentage of the player's first deposit. Also known as Sign Up Bonus. |
Discard |
To throw out (a playing card) from one's hand. |
Donk |

Donkey |
An unknowledgeable and thoughtless player. |
Door Card |
This is the first exposed card, or 'up' card, in a player's hand in Stud games. |
Double Belly Buster |
Having two inside straight draws;
for example in Texas Holdem when you hold 65 and the first four board cards are 9832. |
Double Suited |
In Omaha, when the four down cards are of just two suits, giving good flush possibilities. |
Double Up |
To double the size of your chip stack on a single hand. (This is typically done by going All In against another player andwinning the hand.) |
Down Cards |
Hole cards. Cards that are dealt face down. |

Drawing Dead |
Trying to make a hand that, even if made, will not win the pot. If you're drawing to make a flush, and your opponent alreadyhas a full house, you are "drawing dead." |
